ToneKnee
It would be nice if Windows 7 could utilise OpenCL/DirectCompute and not just support them. Would be cool to get some performance boost regardless of how little or in only certain situations. A boost is a boost. What's the hotfix all about? For the new 6850/6870 cards. Guest
So does this mean openCL is mainstream for ATI and nVidia now? If so, I hope Adobe CS6 includes support for it! ObiWanToby
So the OpenCL driver is separate still. I really want GPU computing to take off. BoneyardBrew Member Posted October 22, 2010 Member Share Posted October 22, 2010 I just love that the ATI drivers are screwing with the color temperatures and turning everything white/gray into a light pink. It hadn't happened to me before, then it happened in Ubuntu and I figured it was just because of the shoddy support Linux gets from ATI, so I finally managed to change that. I can't even find the option now though in the Windows control panel. Edit: For ****s sake, I uninstalled the drivers and everything is still pink. John.D
So, did you need both?? 10.10 and the hotfix?? With 10.9 I did (I just installed the hotfix), because of bejeweled (the free version that was advertised on here) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/947812-amd-catalyst-1010-whql-hotfix/#findComment-593296480 Share on other sites

BillyJack
Do you know if the 4000 series will be able to use openCL? I know that newer features are only added to the latest cards but d@mn. The 4000 series is not that old yet and it would be nice to have improvements.
