Yeah it probably will be, sorry about that :( Also another feature that I was keeping a little bit secret... Fusion OS Beta 3 will feature App Center! But dont get to excited because for now it is just a different front end for the Ubuntu Software Center. Although it is an app store free of Ubuntu branding, I will put up screenshots of it soon. Also, again, this is not the Fusion App Center we have talked about many times before but we will use this front-end for the Ubuntu Software center until ours is ready. Oh, and if anyone is interested I attached the new default wallpaper below. :)

Sorry, I'll never use an OS from anyone that says the following:

"Fusion's core is built on Linux, which is the definition of secure. Leave your anti-virus behind when you make you make the jump to Fusion. No more virus', malware, spyware, etc."

Anyone that promotes not using security software on ANY OS obviously has no business promoting or making an operating system.

Then don't use it, no one is forcing you. I was simply trying to say that it's less likely to get a virus on a Linux based platform than Windows.

If that's what you were trying to say, that's what you should say.

To claim that there are no viruses, malware, or security flaws in Linux is a flat out lie & does a disservice to any work you are putting into the project. After all who wants a product that starts off with a lie?

I have nothing against Linux, Mac OS, or any of the other independent OS's out there, but I do have an issue when someone tries to get clever with their marketing & goes for full out dishonesty.

You could have taken it as constructive criticism and thought about a better way to position the security aspect. Your dismissive attitude already let's me know that this project isn't worth the time to download it. Thanks for making sure that I don't bother.

Ugh just remembered I have a PB and on any Acer brand machine you can't change the brightness in any OS outside windows :/ It'll have to do.

Yeah boy, look at Apple. Its a good thing they went downhill and out of business for saying this right?

No I have taken it as constructive criticism and I will reword it, but you didn't exactly word it in the nicest way either. If you don't like the project then why bother even commenting?

Suugestion: I don't like the term 'App Center'. Use 'App Store'( Apple is most likely to loose the case to Amazon&MS) or something else. App Shop, App Bank?

I thought about it, but I am going to wait and see how that whole thing plays out first, and will go from there. :)

I think app center is fine, aren't you the guy who regularly posts 'news' articles that are awkwardly/ randomly formatted?

You just don't know how to phrase something honestly do you? I thought it was something you were doing on purpose, but it looks like it's actually something pathological that you can't help.

I never said anything about your project one way or the other.

I said I won't use something that claims you don't need to take security measures to protect your system.

That's more about how you're positioning your marketing than the project itself.

Since you like twisting what I've said though you've made doubly sure I won't touch it.

Yeah boy, look at Apple. Its a good thing they went downhill and out of business for saying this right?

Guess what. I don't own Apple products for the same reason. Did I say anything about how successful this project would be? No.

I said (in different words) that I won't use something from a company that promotes security by obscurity and thinks it is above needing to be honest about real-world threats to computer security.

It's the wrong security model, and it's why Mac OS & Linux fall first every year in competitions like Pwn2Own.

Alright you've said that three times now, but your still here. If you aren't going to try it and have no interest in the topic then just don't read the thread, and attacking me personally isn't going to get you anywhere.

*sighs*

I pointed out something that I thought was going to be a cause of issues because I know a ton of security minded people who'd see what you had on the site & shake their heads.

It was an attempt to point out something that could help you avoid that situation.

You got snippy with me, then try to say that I'm against your project, when I never made any such claim.

That's the reasons why I've stated I won't try it.

If you'd come across as actually responsive to what I said & didn't then try to claim that I'm against your project I would have seen it as a positive move on your end and been receptive to trying the OS and providing feedback.

Software testing is something I did for close to a decade so trying out new things & pointing out flaws or discrepancies is something I'm fairly good at. It's why I work where I do now.

Having someone who is honest & isn't blowing smoke up your skirt is better than everyone shining you on, and more productive in the end.

BTW, if I had no interest in the project why would have I read almost the entire thread, visited the website, and looked around for news on anything related to it?

I also agree with Mountain Dew. You shouldn't lie or exaggerate claims. Looked at how silly apple looked recently when they got the fake virus malware, and i dont even think apple themselves were the ones who made the claims.

it just seems silly and nubish to say such a thing. Like, how would you explain future security updates?

Funnily enough that was one of the things on my mind while posting. 3 things were bubbling around in my brain.

1. Recent malware scare on Mac OS.

2. Every OS needs security.

3. Exactly what you asked in your last question. How do you explain security updates if it's already perfectly secure and safe as-is?

Ok, lets just bury the hatchet with this post. I might have been a bit snippy but, to be fair your first comment didn't come across as "you wanting to help" it came across more to me like someone trying to hate (which I am not saying your doing, it just came across that way) "Anyone that promotes not using security software on ANY OS obviously has no business promoting or making an operating system." I didn't intentionally "promote" not using security software, I was just trying to get the point to come across to "average" users that it is secure and they don't have to worry about every little thing. And that was written a while back, and it is all going to be re-written on the new site that launched tomorrow. But thanks for your constructive criticism, and for wanting to help.

Ready for the next release!! w00t!

w00t! w00t!

Of course...always more than willing to bury the hatchet. Thank you for taking the time to read what I've said, acknowledging it, and explaining that the site is due for some upgrades including content.

That site needs an editor... badly. Someone who has gotten past High School English, preferably.

Sorry I had to stop looking at your website, particularly after the part that said I wasn't allowed to use anything on it.

I realized that meant I couldn't click on any links, or even attempt to scroll the page since that would mean that I had attempted to use it.

What has formatting to do, with anything I said?

That just means he KNOWS what HE is talking ABOUT.

but i agree with you, lol

btw, was going to check out the progress on fusion but your site doesn't seem to be working.

I also agree with Mountain Dew. You shouldn't lie or exaggerate claims. Looked at how silly apple looked recently when they got the fake virus malware, and i dont even think apple themselves were the ones who made the claims.

Nothing, just an opportunity to bash your annoying posts that for some reason cannot just be copy/pasted in the default text and size with a linked source and images that actually work. (I'm far from the only one who feels this way judging by posts on many of your topics)
