shockz
Yep. It does. The only thing you really will miss from the paid versions are sound and file transfers. Which would do the same thing-- as long as the pc is on you can log into it. However , copy-paste is not working. I can transfer a file a.text from remote machine to my local machine using the File Transfer wizard built-in .but when I copy the file and try to paste in my local machine the paste does not work. This is not acceptable. I'd be comfortable with copy-paste rather every time opening up the file-transfer wizard. please comment . is there any workaround for this ? Teamweaver seems a better solution for me than logmein. I am liking teamweaver except this copy-paste issue. Could you please guide where could be the issue ? Check on the remote computer that the -- "clipboard" service is running. I think it relies on that and sometimes that is disabled on office computers. also you could try this same problem once or twice but got around it by using the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V keys. there is another workaround -- where you copy and paste it into the chat function-- then send the text as a chat to yourself... also try the following services.. Try to start/ Restart the following services 1.Network DDE DSDM. 2. Network DDE. 3.Clipbook. redvamp128
I would suggest -- try maybe emailing the file to yourself or using drop box on the remote pc to send yourself the item... If you install it that way.. teamviewer can be setup with a constant password, it can be setup to start with windows even before login, it can be setup with vpn option for your whole network. You can setup partner lists, etc. etc.. Before you think a software can or can not do something - have you read the manual??? +BudMan MVC Posted November 1, 2010 MVC Share Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) "if everybody read the manual this site would not exist. " What?? So you think neowin exists because people are too lazy to read? Nasty?? I don't mean to burst your world view, but how do you get anything done with all those lollypops and sugarplums dancing around in your head? ;) Asking someone if they have read the manual is not Nasty - its a honest freaking question! Why would someone jump to the conclusion software X can not do something - if you have not even bothered to take 2 minutes to breeze over the feature list, be it on the website or the manual? Clearly spelled out on the feature list is exactly what the poster stated the software can not do. but I want always on of my office PC . http://www.teamviewer.com/products/benefits.aspx Remote administration of unattended servers TeamViewer can also be used to control unattended computers and servers. +BudMan MVC Posted November 1, 2010 MVC Share Posted November 1, 2010 And have you tried teamviewer?? Here I just verified copy/paste works.. I connected to my home machine using it -- which nobody is at the computer (the remote administration feature) I then copied some text from local notepad Then pasted it on the remote computer I then wrote some text on the remote machine and copied it back to my notepad So if not working for you -- you got something wrong on your machines. Nick H. Supervisor Posted November 1, 2010 Supervisor Share Posted November 1, 2010 Alright, here's another solution you could try: Set up the logmein free option on the machine you want to use from afar. Set up a dropbox account on the machine you want to use from afar. Download the dropbox program on the machine that you're using locally. Now, put a notepad document in your dropbox account. If you want to copy and paste something from one computer to another, use the notepad document. Job done. It's not exactly the cleanest solution, but since I have dropbox installed already at home and at work, this is what I do if I want to copy and paste from one place to another. Of course, one could argue that you could easily just email the copy/pasted material to yourself. EDIT: This method can also apply to the copying/pasting of files.
