ATM I'm trying for the nightingale armor, I keep reading the stats vary on level. Should I not get any gear or craft till after I reach a certain level.

The nightingale armor, upgraded to legendary, it's awesome indeed.

Daedric armor looks silly on this game, in fact I think the best looking armor it's glass. It just looks like a proper armor and, unlike past games, it actually looks that it can protect you instead of making you look like a Faberg? egg. In the end, with every perk upgraded there's little difference between dragon and glass, if any.

Glass armor makes you look like a power ranger. They should have made the stronger armors look a little more humble, imo, instead of "badass"

To some point I agree, however I do like looking like a badass sometimes :p

I take you really love the ebony armor look (sans helmet).

BTW, If glass armor makes you look like a power ranger Daedric looks like one of the bad guys in that show.

Ebony armor is that classic Knight look. I like it a lot, but ebony ignots are just a pain to buy and find. I found a few orc camps who's blacksmiths sell 6 eb igs at a time, but then you are spending like 4k on them.

I have around 60 Ebony Ingots in my chest at home in Whiterun. Once I hit about level 30, the blacksmiths constantly had between 4 to 6, so I continually bought them, until I realized they were abundant now.

Whiterun's blacksmith (The one just next to the entrance) sells around 10 of them every two days. If you have decent enough speech skill they arent expensive. Also I have this mod that allows to recycle weapons in the smelter. You should try it. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=874

Nightingale is my favorite armor look...

so I downloaded a mod to change my dragon armor into nightingale. :)

It's just the look though, the armor still has the same stats.

But will other armor I get at higher level shatter the nightingale that I get stats wise.

There is a mod on skyrim nexus called nightingale prime,, reason I'm going for the nightingale armor

The one in whiterun only sells me 1 or 2 at most every 2 days. And nope, not putting any points into speech :p I talk with my blades!

I wonder... My character is a Orc... So do vendors have race preferences? Do they sell more to a human than a orc? Is that why orcs sell me more goods in the camps???? Hmmmm

Aesthetically, I think some of the least strong armors in the game look the best. I like the iron armor and the steel plate armor. The steel plate armor from the back looks very elegant, with an intricate, subtle design. The ebony armor still looks clunky and heavy in comparison. I thought part of the point of magic armor and strong metals was that you could make better armor that was also lighter at the same time? I wonder how difficult it would be to move around in ebony armor if it were real.

Whats the deal with the arrow to the knee comments? I saw something yesterday but I can't see images here at work.

There's a character in the game that you meet who says that he used to be an adventurer until he took an arrow to the knee. Someone created a picture of that exact conversation and then right next to it imagine a picture of your character with 6 arrows coming out of his face. In context it's friggin hilarious.

Fixed that for you :p I hear it from basically everyone except vendors.

Just finished the quest where you go investigate the dragon being reborn by the black dragon ( second dragon ) , but ended up killing a dragon on the way ( where dragon word frost storm was learned ), now trying to get a house to store magic items, as don't really want to sell them. And started Thebes guild to get the nightingale armor. Lvl 8 ATM,using only bows

So far it's very fun, world isn't as big on foot/horse as I thought it was though , fast travel makes it seem even smaller.

Keep in mind that the earlier you get the armor, the lower the stats will be. I went and did the assassins guild quests first, then went back and did the thieves guild story line. Although I kind of mixed them up a bit but I didn't finish the nightingale line until like 25 or so.

Well crap, looks like I don't finish the quest till level 32 or something. ( skyrim wiki says it maxes at lvl 32 )

I just realized you can kill people without incurring a bounty or even hostility towards you. Just conjure a Flame Atronach in front of someone, kill it, and get out of the way as you let it explode into a fireball upon its death.

I'm level 35 and have to stop playing. I'm the type of person who can't play a game twice, because I know all of the spoilers and it's boring for me to rehash what I have already done. I really want want to enjoy the mods but since the release date for the SDK has been pushed to January, I'm afraid that I will finish the majority of the game by then! So I am going to try to wait for the SDK before I work on any of the major plotlines.

The random bounty missions are boring as hell. The bandits did not not level with me so I just walk around and one-shot everybody.

Is there a way to count hours played in some sort of log file, or something?

It says in your save file how many hours you have played.

One of the best looking re-textures I've ever seen, it's amazing. I've been using it for several days.
