Rappy Veteran Posted December 16, 2010 Veteran Share Posted December 16, 2010 Sportsnet.com is reporting that the long-suspected match up between former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Ortiz and PRIDE veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has finally found a home. According to Sportsnet.ca, the bout will take place at UFC 129, which may now be occurring in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the recent announcement that the UFC's planned return to Abu Dhabi this March has been scrapped. It is unknown as of yet whether or not Ortiz and Nogueira's bout will be moved to Toronto with the card, or will simply occur on a differently numbered event still taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, as was originally planned. Ortiz has not won a fight since defeating Ken Shamrock for the third time in October of 2006. Since that fight, Ortiz has had fallings out with the UFC and been plagued by injuries. In the span of time between then and now, Ortiz has fought Chuck Liddell, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Forrest Griffin and Matt Hamill; his fight with Evans went to a draw, he was TKO'ed by Liddell and the other three were lost via decision. UFC President Dana White has said that this will be Ortiz's last fight in the UFC should he be unable to find a win. Nogueira recently saw his seven-fight winning streak snapped by promising young contender Ryan Bader, who defeated "Minotoro" by unanimous decision in September. Prior to that defeat, "Little Nog" had racked up two wins in the UFC, an impressive knockout over Luis Cane and a controversial decision win over Jason Brilz. http://www.fightline.com/fl/news/2010/1216/534755/tito-ortiz/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/961422-antonio-rogerio-nogueira-vs-tito-ortiz-scheduled-for-ufc-129/ Share on other sites
