Do say "vanilla" or "vanella"?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I guess I'll be one of the only odd ones here. I pronounce "Vanilla" - "Vanella" I have no idea why... I've pronounced it like that as far back as I can remember. Actually, my whole family does... maybe it has something to do with us bein' raised in New York. The weird thing, is that when I say it like "Vanilla", it sounds unnatural.

has even ONE person said they pronounce it "vanella"?

i say vanilla

uh..yea? try 2 posts above yours! lmfao theres been a couple others too mate

/edit.. doh post saying same thing posted while i was posting.

yeah yeah, fine :p maybe i should read all 3 pages instead of just the first 2 and assume no one said anything on the 3rd page  or maybe i should just leave this topic

I say vanilla, but since I am from South Carolina I am constantly surrounded by rednecks so I hear 'vanella' all of the time.   Some people try to stretch out the el as long as they can, so it sounds pretty bad.

Hey hey now... just cause some of us say Vanella, it doesn't mean we're a redneck. haha ;)
