*[NEW DISCOVERY]* My friend's computer has Windows 7 SP3?

Are you speaking for every single shop in the World? Would you be willing to say that there are no shops in China that sell pirated DVDs? How would an operating system be magically different to that? Indeed, all you need to do is look at this article here: Ballmer: 9 out of 10 copies of Windows in China are pirated.

Are you telling me that 9/10 people in china pirate the software themselves? Of course not, there are stores that are willing to offer the software to the customers, just like there are DVD stores willing to offer pirated DVDs.

Now, I'm not saying that his software is definitely pirated. But to believe that there aren't shops that will put pirated software on your computer is just silly.

EDIT: Although I do agree that you wouldn't expect HP to go passing around pirated software.

i was being sarcastic, of cause it can be pirated, just because it came from a shop it means nothing

"My friend" my ass, you are providing screenshots from your "friend's" computer quite quickly.

Why do you crave this attention so badly, it's quite lame!

Well he sends me the pics via msn and both of us have high-speed internet, so waddaya expect!

After reading the entire thread I pretty much came to the same conclusion! Ha ha ha This forum has really become quite silly actually, all the horse **** that gets posted here!

So why isn't there an active MSN conversation open in any of those screenshots? Or does he feel the need to close the conversation window every time you ask him for a screenshot?

@ iKenndac A friend of mine just got an error from the Mac OS X v10.6.6 updater saying it can't install on his Macintosh HD because it has Mac OS X v10.6.11 installed on it. He has no idea how to copy and paste in Preview or Photoshop, so it must be legit. I better start a thread in the Apple Support section asking for help.

So weird that both Mac OS X and Windows suddenly start updating to future versions. Man, what's going on here?!

there is no service pack 3, We don't even have SP1 yet. go figure.

Do you really think Neowin needs 3 pages to figure that out? :D

Glassed Silver:mac

Would a repair installation work, since it removes the updates and repair the system files. In this way i would not lose my data

You could try sfc /scannow unless you already tried it.
