jwoodfin09
On Google Chrome 8.0.552.237, Google uses https://encrypted.google.com for the search site. This wasnt there yesterday. Oh and the page says Google beta with SSL and a lock above the word Google. Anyone else notice this? And no it occurs whether I'm logged in to my account or not. Nagisan
Not by default, but I can use encrypted.google.com to force it to (I could also change the default to it if I wanted).
fhpuqrgrpgvirzhpujbj
Uses http for me but if I manually type in https it connects me to the SSL version.

amon91
This has been around for a while, going to https://encrypted.google.com/ will encrypt your searches. That isn't default here as far as I can tell.
jwoodfin09
Maybe it is a US only beta?
Shaun N.
Maybe it is a US only beta? Nope, I have it and I'm in the UK.

That isn't default here as far as I can tell. Obviously Google is not pushing the site. Appears to be US and UK only. Its the default now though wasnt in the past. Only on Google Chrome it seems. I wonder why some are seeing it in the US and UK though. No setting I can find.
Singh400
Nope, I have it and I'm in the UK. Yes you can access the US version of the SSL site, but not one for the UK.
