Btw, for anyone looking for instructions for the Korean VPN trick to unlock the game early:

http://battlefieldo....ge-2#post-14295

This isn't a crack/hack or anything of the sort and doesn't circumvent any activation. It simply allows you to unlock your legally purchased copy today at 14:00 GMT (50 minutes from now). EA has stated that players will not be banned for doing this, as it doesn't violate their T&C. EU and US servers are apparently already up and running.

Do you need to then connect to Origin/Battlelog using the VPN the same as in Steam until the game unlocks in your region, or is that a one time unlock and you're done?

Asking because I don't care about the single player and playing MP through the VPN going to suck, as I'll get terrible pings.

Reaaaaallly tempted to do this, but I would still be afraid of something happening to my Origin account for doing it regardless.

I don't wait to wait until Friday though :pinch:

You only need to use the VPN for the unlock process. By using the VPN, you spoof the unlocker into thinking you're in Korea, thus unlocking your game files today instead of tomorrow.

Once your game files are unlocked, that's it. No need for the VPN anymore and you can play the game normally.

That's good. Will try it when I'll get back home.

I've lost count of the amount of hours I spent playing Dragon Valley on BF2... one of my favourite maps ever! :)

My absolute favourite map was Gulf of Oman. For months, it was the only map I played in BF2. I'm so happy that it's included in the Back to Karkand map pack.

This is my first gaming built PC. I've primarily been gaming on XBOX with all the Halo games, Black Ops, MW2 etc. I recently got a PS3 as well lol. I'm thinking about selling my XBOX because honestly PS3 is so much better.

I'm pretty new to mouse and keyboard, so hopefully I don't get owned too badly online lol.

I pre-ordered the game from Amazon.ca but have no idea if I'm gonna receive the Limited Edition or the Standard Edition :/

I preordered mine from GameStop (360) the day the game was officially announced, before the Limited Edition was revealed. I better be getting it. It was funny though, the store clerk looked at me like I was on crack when I went to pay out in full for a game he didn't even know was being released yet, haha.

...And my friends say I'm crazy about this game. :D

But here I'm, beaten

Dude, they are called "Battlefield: Bad Company"

****, totally forgot about that part. I myself and all the people I played with in BC2 (first one wasn't released on the PC), always referred to it as BC and never counted it as a part of the Battlefield series.

You used the Korean VPN technique? Can verify that you can launch the MP without it (the VPN)?

All these non-texture pack versus texture pack comparisons are night-and-day. The non-texture pack looks like the graphics in the beta, honestly -- that thing had muddy textures beyond belief.

Also: I don't see why getting it for the singleplayer is bad. All the previews have looked good thus far, and most say it's on par with the Call of Duty games, which generally have good (but unimaginative) campaigns.

I used a hong kong based vpn and yes battlelog is working without it so is single player.
