****, totally forgot about that part. I myself and all the people I played with in BC2 (first one wasn't released on the PC), always referred to it as BC and never counted it as a part of the Battlefield series.

Ive been playing Battlefield since before it was Battlefield, Codename Eagle. Bad Company is part of Battlefield series hence why the games are subtitles of the Battlefield name and not self titled.

I actually preferred BC and BC2 storyline to BF3 it had more humour, BF3 tries to take itself too seriously and turns into a CoD style parody.

VPN trick worked. Got done playing a round of multiplayer and it's SO MUCH better than the beta. I lagged in some parts of some of the maps in the beta and now it seems much more optimized, the sound is amazing and no bugs to see anywhere in sight! :)

Anybody know what is wrong here?

Whenever I select a server or launch SP, a message pops up in the bottom left of the browser and tells me to install update

When I do so, it takes me to the Origin and nothing happens

OMG, I looked up screenies of that game, and actually recall playing the demo! Shame I was a broke middle-schooler at the time, otherwise I would've bought it.

Man, not a lot of servers are up right now. That or they're all full. I can't play Operation Metro except for one game to see how much the map improved :(

I'm seeing hundreds of servers up in Battlelog. A lot are empty, but still, there's plenty active ones to play on.

I hope this is true because I thought the beta damage was at a good level. I did not like the bc2 damage model at all.

I never have an issue kicking someones ass with a couple or so bullets in Hardcore mode, which is all I play. I hope theres a hardcore mode in BF3 too :) I'm excited, but can't play til next week as my band has a gig on Saturday and Sunday evenings!!! :(

The beta ran somewhat well on the auto setting; however, I didn't notice anything different in terms of image quality or performance with low, medium, and high. As for the resolution, I always play at my monitor's native resolution of 1680x1050. I guess what's holding me back is my Core2Duo E6750 @ 3.2 GHz.

frostbite is CPU hungry like crazy. on bc2 i went from barely being able to play on medium settings @ 1680x1050 with a 8800gt to being it able to it pretty good on high at same res when i went from a core 2 e6400 to a core 2 quad q9550.

Not really i just dont like the insinuation of the guy a few pages ago that the Bad Company games arent 'true' Battlefield games just because hes a long time Battlefield player.

dude i'm just quoting a review... and many reviews. and what people here have said... how is that trolling that saying SP sucks?

and buying a battlefield game for the SP campaign is normal? do people in neowin even know what a troll is anymore? **** me for having a different opinion then you. or for a lot of people having a different opinion then you...

i wish CoD had as good sound as BF did though. War tapes on bc2 is still the best sound in a video game i have ever heard.

You came into this thread to start some ****. We are here to talk about BF3 and we are excited about it's release. If we wanted to talk about freakin' CoD then CoD would have as many replies and views as this thread. You can't handle it that people aren't talking about what you want them to talk about.

Battlefield isn't known for SP, neither is CoD. They both suck at SP. End of story. If you want a quality SP shooter experience, we'd talk Halo and Half-Life.

I'll say it again. You are a troll. Get over yourself.
