First BF game with a single player campaign, and you bought it just for it?

I'm not saying I'll never touch MP, just that SP campaign have very good production values, and isn't just an afterthought or a filler.

Dude!

hehe I know!!

as expected. MP awesome, SP ****...

also draken, i don't get why you would buy this game for SP campaign and not MP. you are clearly doing it wrong... CoD sure, this :/

Like I've said before, SP campaign is surprisingly good, better than expected, and from the moment that's all I need.

Currently playing Single Player and I am kinda... disappointed.

I feel betrayed.

This is NOT how you start one of the years most anticipated game.

But I gues it'll give me some nice time while I prepare for the greatest of 'em all stage. MULTIPLAYER.

YEAH, I'm coming

care to elaborate without spoiling?

I,m currently playing single player with 1920x1080 resolution and everything on ultra. Maybe that's why I think it's amazing so far. I don't get all the negative comments about the single player

Just finished SP as well (it's a short one...) and I have to say, for me it's better than expected. It's absolutely fantastic technically; the graphics are magnificent, both technically and artistically, sound obviously is awesome, I loved the voice acting and the facial animations. Technically it's very well done, apart from few minor bugs (enemies dead but still at their firing position, some floating objects and some freak deaths) and the horrible AI. The reviews weren't lying when they said that the AI is dumb because it sure damn is.

Story is meh but I could be worse. I found the pacing pretty nice; for me it was way better than Black Ops for example.

Mission design is quite uninspired. Basically it's the standard modern military FPS fare a la CoD and the new MoH. To be honest, it really did feel quite a bit like MoH.

Either way, with all these flaws I still was entertained and, man, did it look pretty.

EDIT Oh and if anyone is playing Thunder Run (mission with tanks), you have to aim directly at the enemies. Trying to account for bullet drop is pointless. Took me a while to understand why I kept missing. :D

Btw, for anyone looking for instructions for the Korean VPN trick to unlock the game early:

http://battlefieldo....ge-2#post-14295

This isn't a crack/hack or anything of the sort and doesn't circumvent any activation. It simply allows you to unlock your legally purchased copy today at 14:00 GMT (50 minutes from now). EA has stated that players will not be banned for doing this, as it doesn't violate their T&C. EU and US servers are apparently already up and running.

Not for nothing but I'd like to see where they posted they said they wouldn't ban people for doing this.

just got an email from origin stating that the release date of my pre-order product (BF3) has been changed to the 24th! What does this mean!!! :-p

I think that's just for the pre order bonuses. Origin still lists the release date for BF3 as the 25th. For me at least.

Folks who are using VPN to get access to BF3 early you might want to read this: http://mp1st.com/201...-access-to-bf3/

Not being an ass or anything but what if I was from Australia and travelled with my gaming laptop to somewhere where it was released on the 25th or whatnot? I'd be pretty ****ed off if they banned me then.

Also I think if they did start banning people from purchasing the game and playing it early the gaming community would go nuts!

They are not going to ban people, stop causing panic. Changing your own IP address to get into game is not hacking, cheating or anything of sorts. They have no legal grounds to ban you.

You don't need any software or anything of sorts. I got into the game by simply changing a proxy on my LAN to login to Origin from a different IP address. If they are going to ban anyone for that is retarded to say the least and first and foremost they have no grounds for it. You didn't hack punkbuster, a server or anything of sorts.

What is most likely going to happen is that they will reset the stats come midnight. Simple as that.

A couple of my friends just got email notices that game release is 24th. They got email directly from EA.

Not only that.. it would be a whole different ball game if you actually used software/hacks to bypass their protection. But changing your LAN proxy to something else is not hacking. If anything, it's their own fault for not making a better date checker.

Video settings are giving me a hard time trying to save.

Oh, and I did get an email from Origin stating

"Thank you for ordering on Origin. The release date for the preorder product has changed. The product listed below will now be available on October 24, 2011. "

This is DICES official stance on it:

Yes I know DICE won't ban as people who want to play it currently really appreciate the game; so its bad publicity for the game itself; publicity which it doesn't need since MW3 is going to be that much harder to take out. All I was trying to do was report some news; I personally also believe that DICE would never do such a thing for its fans.

I never got such email, lots of others have though but which country do you live in? I live in Canada.

I know. I'm just being paranoid, I don't exactly have a lot of disposable cash to rebuy the game these days. :s

I didn't get that email either, but I didn't buy it through Origin though.
