So it looks like the Limited Edition of Battlefield 3 (PC version) is going to be exclusive to EA's new Origin store. That is, if this article is reliable: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/03/ea-takes-on-steam-with-origin-the-only-place-to-download-the-ol/

From the article (emphasis mine):

Can't say I'm particularly thrilled about that. I like having everything on Steam, but I also like saving money...

This is bull****. Thanks EA, thanks a lot. I want all my games to be on Steam and not manage another dumb service. >:[

I've just watched the 12 min gameplay (yeah it's take me this long) video and I was mightily impressed. I know that it was an alpha build of the game so can't wait to see what they final build looks like.

I'm now really torn between this and the other game :shiftyninja:

That sucks. Decided a while back that I'm only getting PC games on Steam from now on (or games that use Steamworks, so they're added to my Steam account). Really looking forward to Battlefield 3, as soon as it's on Steam for pre-order I'm getting it.

According to their main weapons guy they have.

It doesn't look like it. In the gameplay videos you can clearly see the gun being obstructed except for the dead center of the sight and the bullets were still hitting their target in the classic random deviation cone pattern (ignoring the movement of the gun's recoil animations). They might have done other things with the bullets themselves but it seems quite clear that the method of simulating recoil and where the bullet spawning hasn't changed at all.

We'll see when the game actually lands. Until then everything is +- speculation. ;)

This game deserves all its hype. The graphics look truly immersive, and that tank level was HUGE! MW3 can't touch this.

If mw3 still outsells this, it will be a sad, sad day.

well get ready, cause i can already tell you that it will. might as well get that suicide rope ready...

I too hope BF3 outsells MW3 simply to knock CoD off it's pedestal; however, if all the little kiddies go ahead and buy MW3, and let us adults (I'm only 21 but still), more mature players just have our fun with B3 I won't be upset.

I feel the same, only about you console kiddies. And to be honest, I'm not going to be surprised when MW3 going to outsell BF3 on consoles.

Wow, that multiplayer trailer looked absolutely gorgeous. I didn't think that they would be able to provide that level of detail in the multiplayer game, but if that trailer is any indication, DICE is well on their way to pulling it off. Well done :).

As for the whole MW3 vs BF3 thing, the former will definitely sell more copies. I think that anybody predicting otherwise is greatly underestimating the power of the Call of Duty brand. Like it or not, it's a game that resonates with a lot of people who don't typically identify themselves as gamers. Personally, I just hope that both games are great, because I have already set money aside for each.
