- the graphic on the X360 are so-so, barely improved compared to Bad Company 2.

- Part of the modeling for the outdoor part of Metro is just awful. The indoor part is better: it looks like Paris sub station.

I have the PS3 version ... but I'm guessing the 360 and PS3 ones look damn near the same ... and you're saying it's barely better than BC2?!!?!?!

WTF! lol ... Seriously man, maybe I'm seeing more than you are, as I have been making video games for over a decade now - but this is utter rubbish. Battlefield 3 looks beautiful. And for a buggy beta, this is stunning! It looks far better in my opinion than Bad Company 2, and even better than what they've shown for Modern Warfare 3. Maybe I'm wrong, as I haven't seen the X360 one but the PS3 one looks beautiful. You know how much effort and skill it takes to make these kind of high grade looking games on hardware that old?

What case is that Got3n? Spec list would be nice :p

Ohh whoops lol

Asus Sabertooth P67

i7-2600k

Corsair 850watt PSU

Asus Matrix GTX580 Platinum

G.Skill Ripsaw 16GB DDR3 (why 16GB? Cause its was $100...how could you not?)

OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD x2

Corsair Obsidian 650D

Corsair H80 CPU Cooler

The Obsidian 650D is a very nice case, I can't find one thing I hate out it, well maybe i hate that it wasnt free, but none the less, the case is spectaculare, cable management is nice and the air flow and built in fan controls (up to 4 fans) are awesome, even turned all the way up I can barely hear it working. I wish i was at home right now playing on it..but im at work, stupid work!

I gotta ask..how the heck are you maintaining a nearly 1000 spm? I go 4 to 1 kdr, arm 3 mcoms a round, all that good stuff, and I'm only hovering round 500 spm.
Arm ****, heal ****, revive ****, resupply ****, kill a lot of ****. That's pretty much what I do in every game.
This was a fun game, 19 kills killstreak. Ended up with 18 PDW ribbons at the end of the game.

Mate no offence but it looks like you was playing against a team of noobs. Against an experienced team you wouldn't have reached 6 killstreak.

lol agreed^

Definitely a team full of noobs. There's no way in hell one should be able to stand up right without movement for such a considerable amount of time surveying, and having their heads sticking flat out in the air so close to their spawn like that without it getting blown off. :D

Way too easy a match there.

not that hard when all you do is camp in bush...

How is he camping in the bush? He moves around from spot to spot to take out attackers, and he is in the perfect spot to defend both points. As far as hiding in the bush -- that's what they're there for. Use them to your advantage or get killed from people using them to their advantage. Looked like solid play to me.

Seems like people are getting riled up because Boz just wanted to show a video where he does well and now everyone wants to not-so-subtly imply he stinks and they're better players

so you camp in a bush playing a bunch of noobs too eh? whatever floats your guyses boat... at least he wasn't proning the entire time, i'll give him that. and no one here calling out his video said they were better, they were just calling him out for camping in a bush against noobs.

also, happy bday schiz!!

I for one am not knocking his play at all. I'd be doing the exact same thing if the opposition allowed it.

They sure made it easy for Boz to tear them a new one!

Seems the UMP is OP btw :D

I recently unlocked it but haven't played the game since. Gotta check it out and see what all the fuss is about!

...and thanks raj!

If it requires it, absolutely I will move from bush to bush to defend the points. That's not camping. That's being smart.

am i the only one who went straight back to bad company 2 after playing this beta? finally started playing the vietnam mod... awesome expansion.

Couldn't do it. I got bored of it a few weeks ago enough to finally uninstall it, and BF3 is just too close to release to start playing it again.

I'd do the same. I sometimes wonder when playing BC2 how many would actually survive in a real battlefield.

(Not that I have any personal experience, just strikes me how often tactics are stated to be "camping".)

and that's my biggest beef with BF games, they encourage people camping in bushes or being tank ######... at least in conquest with vehicles you can blow everything up so people can say bye bye to their bushes (that sounded kinda dirty).

the only real think IMO so far that this game has over BC2 is the locals. I love the setting for this game. Metro is actually an awesome map. But it's also not fair for me to fully judge the game based on this ****ty beta they released... i really can't see the launch of the PC version going smoothly at all.

I don't see a problem with utilizing the bushes. That's what they're there for. Always proning? That's not even remotely realistic, and it's a cheap exploit to stop people from seeing you, unless you're a sniper. Spamming the vehicles? Also lame. No reason to just wait for vehicles to spawn so you can have that advantage. But using the bushes when the opportunity presents itself? That's just plain smart, I think. But I guess everyone's got different views on what's cheap and what's not.

eh, i'm a CoD kiddie. I'm used to people getting shredded up in HC games for even attempting to camp...

This is where a good Recon player comes in. I spot everything I see, my goal as Recon is to provide intel to my squad, provide a good spawn locations and to watch the flanks. I think if a Recon players does these things he is doing good things. If I am squad leader and Recon that is even better. I have a good overview of the battlefield and can direct my squad as needed.

Thank you for playing the Open Beta and making the final game better!

We are very excited to see so many gamers join our Battlefield 3 Open Beta. Here’s an update on the Open Beta from DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson.

I want to give you an overview of how the Open Beta is helping us shape a fantastic final game, what we are implementing based on your feedback, and how the Open Beta will help us deliver a robust gaming environment from day one.

The Open Beta is a true Beta

The Battlefield 3 Open Beta is based on software that is more than one month old. We need to test the new back end dedicated server structure we’ve built. Not only have we built a new game engine, but an entirely new back end system so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of dedicated servers on all platforms.

Just like normal procedure when releasing a game, the Open Beta has had long lead times due to testing, certification, and setting up. This means that the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game.

We had to do this in order to have as many people testing as possible, in order to ensure a top quality experience when the game is released. However, we’re confident in the Battlefield formula and confident that our fans will support us in order to make Battlefield 3 better.

Dedicated servers require dedicated testing

The biggest reason for running the Open Beta is to stress test our servers and back end. Already, we are seeing 6 times the number of simultaneous players in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta compared to the Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! The fact that Battlefield 3 is clearly our biggest game launch ever by a magnitude of 6 makes it doubly important to test everything.

We are constantly updating the News section on Battlelog with information on what we are fixing from Open Beta to final. We appreciate your time and your feedback. The data and feedback from the Open Beta will not only directly affect the final game of Battlefield 3, but its future development and support.

We’re heading out on the road this week to let journalists experience all aspects of Battlefield 3. Stay tuned for their previews, and stay tuned for the final game on October 25th. The final game will look, play and sound better than the Open Beta. You have helped making sure of that.

What I don't get is; why not release the CB map being it's 64 player slots? How better to test the games backend stability?

Instead they make it a private event in which ends up being shutdown completely throughout the beta process.

yeah that doesn't make sense either. If they haven't fully tested their 64 person maps properly, god knows what'll happen when the game goes live and you have a couple of million hammering away at them.

Probably because caspian border servers already had some major known problems. They crashed after every round... I think thats why they had it in private testing. One of the things they were testing for in the beta was the unlock system, and when servers crash your progress isn't saved, so that would be far from ideal for testing the leveling/unlock system.

Indeed there were many issues to CB.

But wouldn't shutting down the servers running it seem a bit counterproductive?

I mean, that does defeat the purpose of a beta, no? There weren't that many running it to begin with.

I'd be trying to knock down as many birds as I could with the least amount of stones.

Surely after fixing the crashes another issue would arise as you stated with player progress not being saved.

Maybe the fact that the PW's kept getting leaked ultimately played a huge part in their shutdown.

I think the javascript hack to avoid passwords altogether played a bigger part in the shutdown. They probably shut it down to re-evaluate how the password system works and make it more secure.

that's another concern. if everything MP basically revolves on a web page, now they are susceptible to the all the vulnerabilities and what not of the web which would make it easier for people to hack things or take them down...
