For whatever reason, the icon on the taskbar is not updating for me even though I have the latest dev build installed and the install files show the new icon.

Edit: I give up...even reinstalling it still puts the old icon in the taskbar.

if you have it pinned to the superbar you have to unpin it and repin it, i have no idea why you have to do that for the icon to update but that should do it

Hmm,

Chromium 10.0.648.133 (77742) Built on Ubuntu 10.10, running on LinuxMint 10

Still the old icon, nothing new in the repo's, is this icon windows only at the moment?

that's an old build, the build that first got the new icon is in the later 11.x builds, and i'm pretty sure chromium is soon to jump to 12.x

I really like the new design style, especially when viewed large, but as others have noted it doesn't look that great scaled down on the Windows superbar. The main part that I don't like about the new logo is that white ring. Maybe they could make it transparent? I played around with making it darker and more like the old logo:

if you don't like the icon just make a shortcut to chrome.exe in chromes install folder (app data in windows) and change the icon, then pin to taskbar, start menu desktop or whatever.

Its what i'll do if I don't like it
