It's the 2006 3D remake originally released on Nintendo DS (and original originally released decades ago on the 8-bit NES). It also comes with a revamped user inteface and controls fit for iOS. The controls are very close to that of Chaos Rings with the joystick appearing wherever you touch on the screen and when near an interactive object an exclamation mark appears above the main character's head indicating you need to tap the screen. I tried it out briefly (ran through the "intro" dungeon) on my iPhone 3GS. It looked great and the controls were spot on. The one thing that annoyed me was the battle animations, which felt rather slow. Nothing game-breaking, though. Overall it felt very smooth and well-made. A bit pricey but it has plenty of content compared to majority of iOS RPGs.
