Read Mode coming to Desktop Firefox. Nice, now Chrome will follow surely.

- Read Mode is not compatible with e10s currently.

- Meta bug for implementation - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=558882

Preference to toggle 'Enable' in about:config

reader.parse-on-load.enabled;false

Oh i see - another hit into power users and add-on developers face..

Mozilla announced today that it will introduce extensions signing later this year which changes several processes for extension developers and many users of the browser.

Another issue is that modified extensions cannot be installed anymore unless you go through the same signing process as add-on authors.

The Firefox installation process will change as well. When you click on the add to Firefox button will check if the extension is verified

One part of me doesn't like this, but the part of me that does tech support (and see's crap like malicious extensions all the time) is for it lol

edit2: well, we are going to be able to disable it in nightlies.

If Mozilla gives us the choice to fully disable it via about:config then I'm fine with it. If it's forced upon us once it hits stable with no option to disable it this may cause some issues for some extensions, e.g. Bookmark Favicon Changer.

Mozilla enabled "Shumway" in Nightly to replace "Flash" on Amazon, its for testing purpose only.

Looks like something is wrong with your Anti-Aliasing, Dingleberry.

I'm guessing it was manually turned it off, it takes effort to make it look that bad.

Just trying w10 & FF is acting crazy

crashing when copying the url in the address bar Also as you can see Anti-Aliasing is on but not working.

Can you guys please  post your screenshots of Anti-Aliasing enabled page?

Quoting from mozillazine, anything after electrolysis, I am looking forward to:

This should interest some of you: Project silk can now be tested on desktop Firefox on Windows and OSX. Project silk aims to increase animation smoothness (smooth as silk) by synchronizing composition with VSync. To enable the new mode, go into about:config and set gfx.vsync.compositor, gfx.vsync.hw-vsync.enabled and gfx.vsync.refreshdriver to true (then restart the browser).

Note that this does not yet work on Linux, so don't try it lest you get stuck in a crash loop! Also, the implementation on Windows depends on the DWM (Windows' compositor) being available and enabled. The browser should still work just fine with it disabled, or on Windows XP where it isn't available, but it won't be synchronized with VSync.

Also: be careful with this if you're likely to switch to an older version of Nightly, since setting these preferences (which were first introduced for B2G) will probably cause older builds to crash. The VSync source for Windows has been available for about 2 or 3 days now.

Just tried it.

Have to say Silk Smooth although it's just a alpha type release.

Very Impressed.

Not to mention amazing gain in Peacekeeper "Canvas" benchmark.  :)
