Actually scratch that on my previous post.I do get the bug and indeed it seems to be related to Omnibar addon. But i guess its from one of the 2 updates today since i haven't noticed it until just now.It seems to happen on random.I even tried typing gibberish in the urlbar and it deletes it.For example typing "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" or any other letter will trigger the bug.Even proper words from your history too. However the bug does not happen if the word gets autocompleted. Can't be more precise than this for no tho.

Url autocomplete (autofill) was implemented recently. I had to disable it because it was replacing what I was typing.

Typing hu would take me to my queue on hulu.com, but with autofill on it would replace h with www.hulu.com.

That kinda sounds like the issue you're having? I do have omnibar installed as well and having autofill enabled makes using the extension harder.

also .... not sure if it's autocomplete or autofill.

should be coming soon, there are a list of things that need to be done for it to be more native.

1. Page bounce when scrolling

2. Lion scrollbars

3. page forward and back animation

These are just a few above the surface elements as there are things that still need to be done below to increase performance on OS X.

Thanks for letting me know. :) Hopefully these are all added in near future.

Oh my nativeness! That looks great! Is it a good alternative to Speed Dial?

To me its okay... The thumbnails do not look THAT good plus i think they should be larger. But anyways a nice feature which DOES have a turn off button :)

Google chrome copy/pasted? :(

Speed dial is like bookmark, where the new tab page is more like history/most visited.

What the heck!! You can not call it Google Chrome copy paste , idea of thumbnails is from Opera while showing history pages is by Safari. Chrome did not innovate this idea :/

Sorry, I should have said "everybody will think that it's been copy/pasted from Google Chrome", I typed my post too quickly!

Let them think... Safari copied Opera , Chrome copied both , we copy all three whatever

PS : It got backed out again :'(

Again, most of the times is not copypasta, just progress. You wouldn't say that chrome copied the addon thing from Firefox, even though firefox had them before chrome.

Good ideas should not be avoided just because someone else did them first.

That's not what've said.

But I prefer innovation instead of copy/pasting.

What's the diff between Firefox/Chrome on this feature? I don't see any, really.

None. And i really can't see where the problem is. I don't find it a shame to implement good features from other browsers.

Well of course. But innovation and making use of good ideas are not mutually exclusive.

It's perfectly sensible for software to take cues from others for good ideas and implementations. You can still innovate at the same time. Browsers currently seem to be in a pretty good place with all that - good ideas are being shared, while all are pushing the boundaries elsewhere.

Yep having this same bug as well for the last couple of days. Took some trial and error to figure out which one was causing it. Frustrating too because the awesome bar suggestions look so huge now with the addon disabled.

Tried re-enabling the omnibar add-on with the latest nightly build and it's working properly now. So happy to have it back.

Ok.How about this.Someone invented the roof of a house looong before you were even born.So why do you copy/paste it and use a roof for your house???Just innovate something else.

I don't get you guys.Who cares who invented something first???The only thing i care is that i have that nice feature in my favorite browser and that it works ok.I don't give a duck who tought of it first. And like ppl said you can't just ditch good ideas and features just because someone tought of them first.Nothing in this world is purely innovative. Most of the things use something from other things,so your theory of making something purely innovative is flawed.

Completely forgot about it for the past couple of days. But yeah, this addon is just that awesome.

New Tab Page in fx branch again for testing , lets hope it will make it to Firefox 12

they really need to do something more with it though, it's way too plain and featureless in its current form

That's really what they want though, something unobtrusive and out of the way. The original goal included RSS feeds, Google search box, etc. but they decided that was too much clutter and drew the user away from just going to the site they wanted.

A wise decision.

They have already innovated ideas and made mockups for the implementation ,its just that devs are too busy ...
