No, they aren't :(

hmm , also i don't understand why are they purposely making the nav bar taller? I mean first they landed taller tabs w.r.t the nav bar , then instead of making the tabs lil shorter , they make the nav bar even more taller :|

Lol, it's like Mozilla just can't deliver anymore. They're doing well on a few things, and many under the hood changes, but ultimately they've slipped up on the big things that the average user can really notice for the past, what, 3 versions? The home tab, new download manager, incontent UI, separate tab processes, tab animations, and even small things like moving the window controls to the right place, having a normally sized window border, or just implementing the drop marker they've had in their mockups since version 4, all take forever to implement.

I thought they had different teams working on different things, so why is it that something like a drop marker takes 9 versions to arrive?

Those versions are 6 weeks apart, not 6 months.

Expect smaller changes, more often. Even without the new process you quite probably would not have seen those things yet, and the idea for the new process is not about making obvious UI changes with every release - it's about getting whatever changes there are out the user, more quickly.

Keeping UX team aside , MemShrink and Snappy projects have indeed boosted like jets! Firefox 13 is the version to see such vast changes which really make UI faster. IonMonkey devs have too worked hard and now its close to other engines , few more weeks it might be faster than v8. Its only , ONLY UX team which is so forked up :/

I mean they created this UX branch , which sometimes gets UX changes later than the nightlies , and then numerous bugs of it are still not fixed/properly discussed... Instead of providing all sorts of halfbaked features , they have just added another roadblock every bug has to pass for no obvious reasons. People using UX builds are quite less than say nightly , and then even if we test UX features , they are not addressed properly anywhere (i think only Mozillazine forums have proper UX thread, nowhere else in google groups etc). I have no problem with other teams , its just so-called UX team which is a big let down...

They didn't even implement the drop markers correctly. :p Not sure if someone filled a bug for it, but they forgot to update the drop marker on Windows for Add-ons Manager, next to the wrench icon.

It also seems like they've screwed up the selected tab image seen in Heartripper's screenshot.

Mozilla, y u no use favicon?

why? what for? There this vast image and title of webpage ,or are you referring to their old design where they were going to just show the favicon instead of thumbnail ?

Brace yourself for , the big thing!

The new Download Manager has been pushed to the inbound builds , and will be disabled by default in Aurora 13. Version 13 will be a BIG hit!

so neither title nor thumbnail but favicon is more important to identify a site?

Did I say that the favicon was the most important? Nope.

But it clearly helps a lot to spot quickly the website. It's been here for the bookmark since always .... for a good reason.

New Tab Page iteration 02 ! (Special appearance in UX Builds 9 March 2012)

Do you know by any chance if Mozilla plans to reduce the width on their tabs? I know you can do it via Stylish, but I think it improves the visual appearance of the tabs being shorter in width, similar to the mockups (which looks similar to Chrome's width). having too long of a tab just looks ugly IMO.

The new rounded tabs IMO look great on OSX, but not sure about Windows yet.

the mockups do reflect shorter tabs (in width) , but even Firefox 4's mockups reflected the same. So we don't really know at the moment...

Yes i think mac is more "curve friendly" and seeing the gradient of new tab page and about home , it seems that firefox developers are making UI which just looks good on OSX , it seems irrelevant in Windows. With Win8 which is even more squarish , i don't know if their desing would be great. But i like it somehow for the timebeing , at least its better than regular ones

Is there a about:config setting for UX 13.0a1 x86 to enable it? Assuming the new DM is that nice drop-down button. Strangely it worked for me yersterday on ux 64...
