What do you guys think of this?

Lakers' Kobe Bryant is fined $100,000 by NBA for anti-gay slur to referee

Bryant made his comment, captured on television, during a game Tuesday after being called for a foul and receiving a technical. He says his actions "were out of frustration during the heat of the game." Gay-rights groups criticize Bryant.

*I know this is a month-old topic but the NBA Playoffs is heating up*

I think $100k for a phrase is way too much, I think the NBA was just trying to make a statement to all in the league that this is something that isn't tolerated.

Anyways, who are you guys picking for the Finals? For me it's Miami vs. OKC. I can see OKC beating Memphis and the Mavericks but Miami getting past Boston and Chicago will be tough.

I can't believe the Lakers got put out of the playoffs so quickly, and so easily. What in the world happened to them?

Yeah, the way they went out was terrible though. Odom and Bynum just reacted to the situation and felt to take it out on someone. The Mavs were just faster and "into it."

NBA fan here, Knicks specifically since the mid 1980's (even paid a whole lot of money to get a playoff ticket this Playoffs since it was the first time they have been in the playoffs in a long, long time), so I have been watching the playoffs since they have started. Been particularly good this year.

I pretty much have to believe we are witnessing the beginning of a Dynasty, no doubt about it. Only way it will not happen is if a team from the West also puts 3+ amazing players together.

I really wish the Mavs would win, just not going to happen. Believe me, as much as I can appreciate and like watching the Heat, I cannot stand the franchise, as I shared I am a Knicks fan so I hate the Heat just on premise, but they are going to win. Wish Dirk and J Kidd would get a ring, but just do not see it happening.

Big Mavericks fan, but I really can't see LeBron being stopped. It doesn't help that Dallas always seems to choke in this big-time moments. Not Dirk so much as every other player on the team. Yesterday's game was just ridiculous on countless levels -- they made horrible passes, missed wide open shots (DUNKS! LAY-UPS!) and played horrible defense in the fourth quarter (Peja, in the zone, you have to ROTATE!). The bench play just wasn't good, either.

Really want the Mavericks to win, but they don't have the poise Miami (read: LeBron and Wade) does.

I think they can still win but it will be tough. As for a dynasty it won't be long before the west puts a team together. OKC is really young and Harden will be a star next season. The Bulls will get a full season to play together and not to mention they are young. The heat can be a dynasty but not a fully dominate one.

Of course they can still win. I just don't see it happening. IMO, I'd put their chances of winning the series somewhere between 20-35% at this point.

Stopped watching the NBA when Jordan retired. A lot of people told me that LeBron is the second comming of Jordan and that I would love his personality. But as far as I know he's been active for seven years. I little too late for getting into a player.
