So, it's been an exciting year with MSN and AOL. Both are slated for the releases of there new clients in October. I wanted to get this thread going, cause I do this pretty much every year. I wanted to battle off AOL and MSN this year in a 'calmer' way...usually these threads turn into "I hate AOL threads," but that's not what I want to see. I want to see actual feature debates and stuff like that. Don't argue, be nice, keep it On-topic. I am also going to see if I can post some screen shots of MSN in here at a later time.

On that note, let us begin. :D

Well it must be AOL confusing the news, cause the news still doesn't know what's on AOL's mind...They've confused them as to when the hell it's releasing...

Is Encarta and Money available with MSN 9?
On a much lighter note, yes MSN Encarta Plus is in included in the MSN Premium subscription.

Well it may get old to you cause you ruin it EVERYTIME by coming in here acting like AOL rules the world, cause it doesn't. I think that if you would take it a bit more maturly you'd be interested in debating the different AOL and MSN features without bashing MSN.

I'm curious as to how the updated "You've Got Pictures" operates...what is new and how does it compare to MSN Photo Plus and MSN Messenger Photo Swap?

Edit: oh, and while I am here...for those testers that don't know, we have a new build being released next week to kick the tires on.

I don't see why I should have to turn off e-mail notification. This title of this thread is "MSN Premium v. AOL 9.0 Optimized", a topic that I have an interest in, since I have memberships to both services.

I'm interested in the discussion-- not in your bickering.

As a mod, you should be enforcing the 'stay on topic' rule. And since you're involved in the off-topic chatter, you should get a different mod to tell me "you dont have to visit the thread or post that".

It was not thread discussion, or I wouldn't have posted that. Look, I'm not going to start a fight here, just take into consideration that some forms of personal discussion shouldn't be put on public boards. Things that only the two of you will understand are of no value to other board readers.

Well i have used AOL on and off at friends houses through the version (since around version 4 i think) I was mostly dissapointed. This may have a lot to do with the fact that many of AOL's features the are so good are media related and I have only used it on Dial-Up. Nevertheless I would have to say that I am not really an AOL fan.

On the other had I had used msn prior to version 6 and was about as impressed with it as any other isp. Since version 6 MSN has totally out done themselves. Their features like MSN photo's, money and Encatra Pro are awesome and only getting better. Probably the best isp there is. Two complaints for MSN though. The news articles on msn.com suck. Never anything worth reading, and the whole new premium member thing. I like the features of it just not that you pay more. We will see how it turns out. But for now MSN 9 rocks.

Oh ya Toxikk I thought MOD's were there to protect threads from people doing what you are doing. Just let people express their opinion. If you don't like the idea behind the thread don't read it. It really is pretty simple.

Err.. does that apply to all MSN 9 beta users, or just the ones who signed up through BetaPlace?

This is not true. All MSN 9 beta users whether you are legally using it or not, will most likely be prompted on Thursday to download the update.
