To actually mirror the letters, you would have to create each one separately and rasterize each as it's own layer. Then, there are tools in Photoshop to rotate the image/flip it - then, you would just apply a gradient over it that fades to a transparency. Then, position how you want...

1. Make a Text layer with a sans serif font

2. Duplicate the font layer and place it right under the first layer (no pixels between)

3. Put the text layer's transparency to 10%-15%, personal preference

4. Open the Blending options for the "reflection" layer and choose gradient overlay

5. Blend mode: Normal

Opacity: 100%

Gradient: Now this is the tricky part, choose the "Foreground to Transparent" Gradient (half one colour, half transparent) and double click it. Now a gradient screen shows up, click on the bottom colour picker on the left side and eyedrop the background colour of your image.

Scale: set it to 120%-150%, again personal preference.

That should do it :).

Edit: Uploaded a photoshop screenie for number 5. You can make a new (New button) gradient if you want, it's just something I do for every new gradient that I make.
