Microsoft's '12 Days of Deals' campaign has already seen great deals with tablets, phones, Xbox One bundles, Bluetooth speakers and a couple of best selling games being part of the campaign. Today, the company is selling an unlocked Lumia 635 for $129 as a part of today's promotion, which is $50 down from its regular retail price of $179. We reviewed the device back in August and gave the entry-level phone a favorable rating, praising it for its low cost but worthwhile specifications, features and premium feel.
For those of you unaware about the device, here's a run-down of the phone's specifications:
- Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Cyan firmware
- 4.5-inch FWVGA (854x480px) IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
- 8GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
- 5MP rear camera with 720p video recording
- 1830mAh battery
- 4G LTE connectivity
However, the device falls short of a few features mainly the lack of a front-facing camera, a dedicated camera button and only 512 mb of ram available.
But considering that the phone is an entry-level device, a few shortcomings are obviously expected and the phone is still a steal at its extremely low selling price of $129 via the Microsoft store (today only). Please note that the deal goes live at 8am ET.
