8Bitdo is well known for its retro-style gaming products that appeal to the nostalgia of long-time gamers. Most of its products so far have been inspired by Nintendo hardware, such as the NES and SNES, but today's addition is different. The firm today announced the M30 Bluetooth gamepad, a wireless controller based on the six-button gamepad that was made for the SEGA Mega Drive.
Much like the remainder of 8Bitdo's controllers, the M30 will work with just about any Bluetooth-enabled device, including computers, phones, and the Nintendo Switch. The six-button layout is pretty unique among controllers, making this a fairly interesting addition to the company's catalog. The controller will go on sale on February 28, but you can pre-order it right now on Amazon for just shy of $30.
If what you want is to revive your actual SEGA Mega Drive or Genesis, 8Bitdo also has something for you. The new Retro Receiver enables you to use just about any wireless controller, including the new M30, with your old school systems so you can relive your favorite classics without the need to have cables going around your room. Like the M30, the Retro Receiver for SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis will launch of February 28, but it's available for pre-order for $20 on Amazon.
If SEGA controllers aren't your thing, you can find a ton of Nintendo-themed controllers on 8Bitdo's website. There are some modernized models that add analog sticks to the classic designs if you want to try playing 3D games with them.
