Looking for a bit of gaming nostalgia tonight? Look no further, as an ambitious programmer has recreated Super Mario 64 with the Unity game engine that allows for play in your browser.
Erik Roystan Ross, a computer science student, has recreated the first level of Super Mario 64 using the Unity game engine. While being able to play this in your browser would've been enough, he also decided to update the games visuals to HD as well.
For those too young to remember, Super Mario 64 was one of the first titles released for Nintendo's 64-bit system, the Nintendo 64. Although the game was released nearly 20 years ago, it is still highly revered for its gameplay and presentation. While there has never been a true sequel to Super Mario 64, spiritual successors have made their appearances on the GameCube, Wii, and Wii U.
If you want to take the game for a spin yourself, be sure to hit Erik Roystan Ross' site. If you haven't already, you will be required to download the Unity web player in order to play the game.
