At its event in New York City last May, Acer took the wraps off of the Swift 5, which is claimed to be the world's lightest 15-inch laptop. The Taiwanese electronics company said then that the laptop will be available later this year, though no specific date was given. At this year's IFA event in Berlin, Acer finally revealed the availability and pricing of the different Swift 5 models as well as the updated Swift 3 notebook.
According to the company, the 15-inch Swift 5 model SF515-51T will begin shipping in January 2019 in North America starting at $1,099 and in China this November from ¥7,499 (~$1,099). The laptop will also be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in November starting at €1,099 (~$1,282).
Acer also updated its legacy Swift 5 14-inch model (SF514-53T) with Intel Core i7-8565U and Intel Core i5-8265U processors. The updated laptop will be shipped in EMEA beginning in September at a starting price of $999 and in China in November starting at ¥7,499.
The Swift 3 lineup has also been updated and now comes in two new variants: the 13-inch (SF313-51) model and the 14-inch version with model numbers SF314-55 and SF314-56. The 13-inch Swift 3 will be available in EMEA from October starting at €799 (~$932). Meanwhile, the 14-inch models will start shipping in North America in November at a starting price of $799.99 and in EMEA in January starting at €799. However, keep in mind that the specifications, prices, and availability of each model will vary by region.
