Today, Acer announced that its Porsche Design Acer Book RS is now available in the U.S. It's the first time that the two companies have partnered up, and they came together to create a laptop and a full range of accessories.
The 2.65-pound PC comes with a 3k carbon fiber cover and a diamond-cut CNC-machined aluminum chassis that's 15.99mm thick. It has a unibody hinge that elevates the base when you open it allowing for better ventilation, which is also improved by dual copper heat pipes.
"We're thrilled to bring the Porsche Design Acer Book RS to the U.S. market to offer style-conscious customers a premium notebook that makes a refined computing statement with the performance to match," said Chris Chiang, vice president – product marketing, Acer America. "Heading into the holiday season, it makes the perfect gift for a fashion-forward loved one who craves elegance and power."
The 14-inch FHD display has narrow bezels for a 90% screen-to-body ratio and it supports 100% sRGB color gamut. Also, it comes with Intel's 11th-generation 'Tiger Lake' processors, including Iris Xe graphics and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. It's also Intel Evo certified.
The base model with a Core i5-1135G7, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD is available now for $1,399.99, although there's a model coming in December with a Core i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Nvidia GeForce MX350 graphics for $1,699.99. Finally, there's a Premium Collection that includes the higher-end SKU and the Porsche Design Acer Travelpack (mouse, sleeve, carrying pouch, and mousepad) for $1,999.99.
