After months of leaks, we pretty much know everything there is to know about the upcoming Galaxy Note9. Samsung could surprise us at its Unpacked event that is planned for this week, but it looks like we will get a few more details before the official announcement, thanks to a source that is allegedly close with a Samsung trainer.
The news comes via Reddit, with little nuggets of details about the Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Watch. Samsung has been known in the past to offer up some goodies when pre-ordering its phones and this year is no different. The firm will apparently offer the choice of AKG wireless noise-canceling headphones or a Fortnite Gaming package. Those that want it all will be able to pick up both by paying $99.
As far as the S Pen goes, Samsung will sell different colors. The color of the S Pen will correspond to the color of the stroke when taking a Screen off memo. The button on the stylus will also offer expanded capabilities, where double tapping it can flip the camera from selfie to regular mode. Despite the stylus tethering through Bluetooth this year, it will offer quick recharging capabilities, with 40 seconds of charge, giving users 30 minutes of use.
Samsung will also be implementing some new AI tricks into its camera, offering optimizations to the picture depending on what scene you are shooting. The camera software will also warn users if there are any issues with the photo being taken, detecting any shakiness, blurriness, and other problems. While you previously had to use a DeX accessory to get a PC-like experience from Samsung's phones, now you will be able to simply plug up an HDMI cable. When the Note9 is in DeX mode, you will still be able to use the screen to jot down notes.
When it comes to the successor of the Gear S3, known as the Galaxy Watch, it will apparently come in two sizes, 46mm and 42mm models. There will also be a rose gold variant made available, which could look similar in color that was found on the Gear S2. Those opting to grab the larger size will be happy to know that it can last up to seven days and will have similar sizing to the Gear Sport. The watch will offer 40 workout modes, which is quite a bit when compared to its predecessor, but it will not include Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology that has given its previous wearables a leg up against its competition.
Although these aren't the juiciest bits of information regarding the Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Watch, it does give us answers to questions you previously might not have asked. Luckily, we won't have to wait long for the full reveal, as the event will take place on August 9.
