Alcatel announced its IDOL 4S back in February at Mobile World Congress, and it made its US debut in July. But unfortunately for Windows phone fans, the device runs Android. Luckily, it looks like the company will be offering a Windows 10 Mobile variant of the device.
Indeed, it appears that the device will be sold by T-Mobile and will be packaged with a VR headset. It's not clear what kind of VR content will be available on a Windows phone, but we'll just have to wait and see what Alcatel has planned.
The specs of the device are also in question. The Android version of the IDOL 4S packs a Snapdragon 652 chipset, 3GB RAM, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and 32GB of onboard storage. However, the tweet states that the device will be the IDOL 4 Pro under 4S branding, so that device is rumored to rock a Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, 22MP rear camera, 10MP front camera, and 64GB of onboard storage.
Obviously, there is no launch date or even a timeframe for an announcement, but by the looks of the packaging in the tweet, it shouldn't be too far away.
