Earlier this month, Sega announced that the long awaited movie-based first person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines would finally be coming out on February 12th, 2013. Today, Sega and developer Gearbox Software have announced plans to release a Collector's Edition of the game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
The $99.99 Collector's Edition will come in a limited edition "Xeno Hive" box. That box will not just have the game but also a resin figurine of the Power Loader, the exoskeleton that Ripley used in the climax of the movie Aliens to help defeat the Alien queen. It also comes with a USCM Dossier that has, among other things, some iron-on badges and an USCM graduation certificate.
The Collector's Edition also has a bunch of exclusive in-game content, including adding four playable characters from Aliens (Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone). You will also gain access to Ripley's famous flamethrower and two other multiplayer weapons (the Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers and the Phase Plasma Rifle). There's also an exclusive USMC Academy Firing Range level and some extra marine customizations.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will be released for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.
