If you really want to get Amazon's 8.9 inch version of its Kindle Fire HD tablet for yourself, or maybe someone you really care about this holiday season, today may be a good day to do just that. Amazon has unexpectedly cut the price of the Android 4.0-based tablet by $50.
This price reduction covers all of the models of the tablet which Amazon first launched just a month ago; WiFi only 16 GB version now costs $249 and the 32 GB version costs $319, with special offers. Without special offers (the ads on the Kindle Fire HD's lock screen), the tablet sells for $264 and $334, receptively.
If you want the 3G version, you can get it for $449 for the 32 GB version and $549 for the 64 GB version with special offers. If you decide to ditch the "special offers", you can still get the tablet for $464 and $564, again respectively.
Sounds good, right? There's actually two catches to this deal. One is that this price cut is just for today only at Amazon.com. The other catch is you need to type in the special promo code FIREHD89 at checkout. Good luck.
