As we get closer to the launch of the Xbox One on November 22nd, Microsoft and Amazon are making it a little easier to sign up for a 12 month Xbox Live subscription that can be used for both the next generation console and the current Xbox 360. Today, Amazon started a limited time promotion that lets people get a free $20 Xbox Live gift card if they purchase a full year's worth of a Xbox Live membership for $59.90
Amazon's website says the offer, which will end on November 7th, can be in the form of a physical gift card or an online game code. In case people purchase the online code for a 12 month Xbox Live subscription, the code for the $20 Xbox Live credit will be emailed a couple of days after purchase.
Earlier this month, Microsoft launched the new Xbox Live gift card, which replaced the old Microsoft Points with real world currency. Amazon, along with other retailers, are still offering Microsoft's newest Xbox 360 game and hardware bundles for $50 off their normal price through January 4th. In addition, Amazon is offering an additional $50 credit towards future purchases with its website when people buy those bundles from Amazon's site.
