Chip manufacturer AMD has repeated previous advice that it will make a profit in the second quarter.
Speaking at a press briefing in Tokyo, chief operating officer Hector Ruiz admitted that this year the market was uncertain, but AMD will "outperform" the market, according to a Reuters report.
Ruiz largely repeated advice AMD gave at an analyst conference earlier this year, but said that flash memory sales were likely to recover in the second half of this year.
Sales of flash had been burdened by the decline in the mobile phone market leading to large stockpiles of flash.
