Nothing but good news from AMD this week. First we had the price cuts, and now the release date for AMDs Sempron processors has been pushed forward. The Inquirer reports that AMD will release its Sempron processors to dealers on July 28th.
Dealers and distributors are being told that the cut down AMD Sempr0n devices, originally slated for release on the 17th, will now be released earlier. AMD told its dealers that the release date for the Sempr0ns will now be July 28th, while the channel will be receiving CPUs after the 10th of August. The Sempr0n family, which AMD is positioning against Intel Celeron Ds, will gradually be phased in different clock speeds and with different features during the next few months.
