AMD's latest graphics card, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, is now available for purchase. The card will arrive in two models, with the air-cooled variant available now for $999, while the water-cooled version arriving sometime in Q3 for $1499.
The cards are the first products based on the Vega GPU and will offer a wealth of features like:
Up to 13.1 TFLOPS of peak single-precision floating-point performance
64 Next-Generation Compute Units (nCUs, 4096 Stream Processors) with support for double-rate 16-bit math
OpenCL™ 2.0 Support
In its press release, the firm touted how the cards would be "the world's first graphics card designed to empower the next generation of data scientists, game designer, and visualization professionals" giving them "up to 172 percent faster rendering performance than the comparable competitor cards".
While it does offer quite an impressive amount of power, you can also see that the firm also made sure that it looked stellar when it came to its design. The card's exterior is made up of blue-anodized brushed aluminum and has an illuminated Radeon logo.
As mentioned previously, the air-cooled model of the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition can now be purchased for $999. If you are looking for something a bit more robust, you'll have to wait just a touch longer for the $1499 water-cooled variant to arrive in September.
