If you've been wanting more Cuphead in your life, Netflix and King Features Syndicate have good news for you. They announced The Cuphead Show! today, a series based on the popular video game by Studio MDHR.
The announcement didn't say much about what the show will actually be about, only saying the following:
"The character-driven comedy follows the unique misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman. Through their many misadventures across their surreal home of the Inkwell Isles, they’ve always got one another’s backs."
In the actual game, Cuphead makes a deal with the devil and has to go around defeating bosses to obtain soul contracts. Interestingly, there was no mention in the press release of Ms. Chalice, the playable female character that's going to arrive in the Delicious Last Course update to the game. That update, however, was delayed until 2020.
No information was provided regarding timing for when The Cuphead Show! will arrive. Production on the series should begin soon, and if the timeline is anything like it has been for the video game, it's going to be a while.
