Earlier this month, HMD Global shared an updated timeframe for the release of the Android 10 update for its lineup of smartphones in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. A few days later, as promised, the Nokia 2.2 started receiving the update, and now, the Nokia 7.2 is getting it too.
The rollout was announced by HMD Global CPO Juho Sarvikas on Twitter, and it makes the Nokia 7.2 the eighth of the company's smartphones to get the latest version of Android. The update has previously been made available to the Nokia 6.1, 6.1 Plus, 7 Plus, 7.1, 8.1, and 9 PureView, in addition to the aforementioned Nokia 2.2.

The update comes right at the transition between the first and second quarter of the year, which is also exactly where the Nokia 7.2 was placed on HMD's rollout schedule earlier this month. Many more phones are slated to get the update in this timeframe, including the Nokia 2.3, 3.1 Plus, 3.2, 4.2, 6.2, and 8 Sirocco. If all goes well, these phones should get Android 10 in the coming days.
With the company's 2017 lineup now out of the support period, the only phones left to get the update will be the Nokia 1, 1 Plus, 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, and 5.1 Plus. All of those should arrive in the first half of the year.
