The next major version of Android is coming this summer, but the most recent release - version 6.0 Marshmallow, which has been available for over seven months now - is so far installed on just 7.5% of active Android devices.
Samsung, the world's largest Android vendor, continues to gradually update more of its Galaxy range to Marshmallow, and as SamMobile reports, Android 6.0.1 has now started to roll out to the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A.
The update - which bumps the software build number up to T550XXU1BPE1 - is currently available only for the Wi-Fi model (SM-T550) in France, but it should expand to other markets in the days and weeks ahead.
Don't forget that rollouts like this one generally proceed in 'waves', so it may take some time before the update is available for all eligible devices.
Last week, Samsung unveiled a new 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab A, which comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed.
