Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow now available for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 in the UK

It's been almost seven months since Google released its Marshmallow update, but only a tiny proportion of devices are currently running the latest versions of its Android OS. Gradually, though, the update is making its way to more devices, including many in Samsung's Galaxy range.

Last week, Samsung released the update for its 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 in Germany. Now, as SamMobile reports, the company has begun upgrading the 8-inch model in the United Kingdom.

Android 6.0.1 has started rolling out to the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (model number SM-T710) in the UK. Android 6.0.1 is the most recent general release of the OS, but Android N (7.0) is already available in Developer Preview form ahead of its official launch in the coming months.

The Marshmallow update making its way to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 today bumps up the firmware version to T710XXU2CPD9. As always, bear in mind that over-the-air rollouts such as this one can take their time to reach all eligible devices, so if you don't see Marshmallow available for your 8-inch Galaxy Tab S2 in the UK immediately, try again a bit later.
