Android 7.0 arrives on unlocked Moto Z in the US, Republic Wireless models soon to follow

When it comes to Android 7.0 Nougat, the road has been a long and arduous for device owners, as it has now just started arriving on a majority of handsets several months after Google's release. Those that own a Moto Z will be happy to know that the update is finally arriving on unlocked variants.

The Moto Z made its debut last year and while we knew that Android 7.0 Nougat would be arriving on the handset at some point, there wasn't a suggested time frame from Lenovo. The Verizon variant received the update in November and now the GSM unlocked version will finally have its day with the new update arriving this month. Those using a Republic Wireless Moto Z will be happy to know that the carrier is currently testing Android 7.0 and if all goes well, it should arrive on handsets on February 14.

Beyond just the core features of Android 7.0, the Moto Z will now officially become a Google Daydream compatible device. The update will be rolling out over the air (OTA), so if it isn't immediate, be patient, as it will arrive over the coming weeks. Those with a Moto Z Play will have to wait just a little while longer, as it will get the update in March.
