Early last week, Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, announced that Android Pie was available in beta form for the Nokia 8. Now, after just over a week of testing with the public, the company has begun rolling out the update to general users.
As usual, the announcement was made by Sarvikas on Twitter, and it comes with the same note we've seen before - the update will be rolling out gradually, so it may not show up for everyone at the same time.
Whereas the update was promised simultaneously for the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 8 Sirocco, it seems that only the 2017 flagship is getting the update today. That may not be welcome news, especially seeing as the update was promised for last month. It remains to be seen if HMD will be able to deliver it before the year is out.
Nonetheless, the company's track record for updates isn't too shabby. The Nokia 7 Plus, 6.1, 6.1 Plus, and 7.1 have all received their slice of Pie. Meanwhile, the Nokia 8.1 already launched with the latest version of Android.
