Months behind schedule, Google finally announced the launch of Android Wear 2.0 in February, and said that it would be made available to some - though not all - existing Android Wear devices "in the coming weeks". By the end of March, no devices had been updated, and after the rollout finally began, it was promptly halted due to the discovery of a last-minute bug.
Since then, it seems the bug has been fixed, and the new version of the OS has started to make its way to more devices. The latest to receive the update are the LG G Watch R and the first-generation LG Watch Urbane.
LG was the first manufacturer to offer Android Wear 2.0, on its brand new Watch Sport and Watch Style, which were unveiled alongside the new OS version.
Android Wear 2.0 brings a wide range of improvements, including more customization options, enhanced health and fitness features, Google Assistant support, and a new on-device app store.
