Valve is back with another Steam Next Fest event, hosting a space for indie developers to show off their upcoming games. Similar to an in-person trade show, gameplay slices of varying sizes are available to try out as long as the event is active, and anyone with a Steam account is invited.
The weeklong event has a handy hub with all the available games and quick access to the demos. Suggestions based on previously played games, sorting by genre, and specialized lists for the most popular demos available are present in the hub as well. There are also developer livestreams happening around the clock with previews and chatting with the community on the same page.
While the event only just kicked off, several popular picks by the community include The Wandering Village, a game about building a colony on top of a giant moving animal; IXION, a space-based city building survival experience; Boundary, a multiplayer class-based shooter in space where everyone is an astronaut; and Pharaoh: A New Era, a remake of the classic city builder Pharaoh: and its Cleopatra expansion.
Keep in mind the games on display are still in development, and the demos are only small previews of what's to come. This latest Steam Next Fest event will close its doors on February 28.
