At WWDC 2019, Apple announced that tvOS 13 would add support for the DualShock and Xbox wireless controllers as part of its effort to promote Apple Arcade, the company's gaming subscription service that officially launched last month. Now, in a somewhat interesting move, Apple has added the Xbox Wireless Controller to its online store, so you can buy it directly from the Cupertino company.
Right now, it doesn't look like you can actually buy the controller yet, nor do you have the option to choose your preferred color, but you can see the description and specs. It's a standard Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth, and Apple's website says it will work with iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and tvOS 13. It doesn't make any mention of macOS, nor does Apple ever refer to the Xbox One itself.
It's not clear why Apple would sell the Xbox Wireless Controller, or why anyone would want to buy it from Apple. You can find it on the Microsoft Store in an array of color options, though some of them will be more expensive than the $60 model on Apple's website. Apple also doesn't seem to have added Sony's DualShock controller to the website.
If you do want to buy it from Apple, you'll have to wait for the company to actually let you add it to your bag. In the meantime, there's a few more controllers for sale on Apple's website should you prefer those.
