Apple seems set to ship an all-new and more environmentally friendly iSight video camera in October.
The company removed the product from sale in Europe this summer because the device failed to meet new European environmental standards in the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2005 (RoHS).
iSight remains available through Apple's US online store - but the dedicated product page now warns prospective purchasers that the device isn't expected to ship until October - the strongest signal yet that Apple plans to refresh the range.
Apple last year began mounting iSight cameras above the screen of its all-in-one Macs: the MacBook, MacBook Pro and iMac. Some rumours continue to speculate that Apple may one day include an iSight camera within its range of displays for Macs.
