AppleCare+ is now offering its monthly payment option in more countries. The warranty program is rolling out its monthly payment plans to customers in Canada, Australia, and Japan, after launching it in the United States last year.
Like in the U.S., customers in those countries can choose to pay for an AppleCare+ coverage on a monthly basis when they purchase an Apple device including the iPhone, iPad, or Watch. For those who paid upfront, Apple offers a way for customers to extend their premium coverage when the 24-month or 36-month (for the Apple Watch Edition and Hermes) plan expires. They can sign up here for that purpose and continue their coverage on a monthly basis, which will continue to renew until customers opt to cancel.
However, there is no option to pay upfront for another 24 or 36 months after the initial upfront plan has expired. Customers in the U.S., Canada, and Australia have up to 60 days from the expiration of their original upfront coverage to switch to the monthly AppleCare+ plan. In Japan, customers are given only 30 days to do that. It is worth noting that the monthly payment for the service varies by device and country.
