It's been a while since we last checked in with construction of Apple's upcoming Campus 2 headquarters. While completion of Apple's new facility isn't scheduled until 2016, we once again gain an early look thanks to an ambitious drone pilot.
Although it's initially difficult to tell what kind of progress has been made, upon closer inspection, it looks as though a good portion of the substructure has now been completed. Previously, a majority of the surrounding area looked exposed and skeletal. Currently, that same area has been filled in and Apple has finally started work on the main building that will house its offices.
When Apple completes construction of its new campus, the building will house nearly 13,000 Apple employees. The circular building will be 4 stories high and cover nearly 2.8 million square feet of land. Interestingly, a majority of that space will be lush with vegetation. Naturally, what will be most impressive when complete will be the entire outer wall made of curved glass.
