Apple has only had iOS 10.2.1 in beta for a few weeks, but according to leakster Sonny Dickson (via MacRumors), the firm has version 10.3 lined up right around the corner. The new minor update will include a Theatre Mode, which will have a popcorn-shaped icon in the Control Center.
And that's everything that we know about Theatre Mode (or at least think we know), but it hasn't stopped some from speculating. Some believe that it's a sort of 'dark mode', which is designed for use in a movie theater, for those that want to be slightly less of a jerk than they previously were.
Apparently we'll find out next Tuesday on January 10, as Dickson says that the first beta is scheduled to be seeded then.
There will likely be some other notable features in the update, as the last minor version, 10.2, included the new TV app, support for Unicode 9 emoji, new wallpapers, and more. It also seems likely that we'll see corresponding betas for macOS, tvOS, and watchOS.
