Apple's next iPhones could be called the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone Edition

After months of leaks and rumors, Apple finally announced that it would be holding an event on September 12th. As we head into a busy week at IFA in Berlin, it appears that case vendors are hearing news about potential monikers that could be used for the upcoming iPhones.

According to the folks at 9to5Mac, who have discussed and cross referenced the nomenclature with various sources, including one that has a direct line to Shenzhen which has claimed to have seen the new iPhone packaging, it appears that the next iPhones could arrive as the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone Edition.

While we have heard these names used in great detail over the past few months, the last one is of particular interest because iPhone Edition originally sprang up in a report from trusted Apple resource Mac Otakara as early as March. While things could obviously change from now until the day of launch, at least one case manufacturer has updated their SKUs based on the available information, showing off the designs behind closed doors at IFA 2017.

Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer, with Apple set to announce its upcoming iPhones in the coming weeks, along with a new Apple Watch, and Apple TV with 4K support in the newly built Steve Jobs Theater.
