Ahead of the Ubisoft Forward event that's slated to fully unveil the innards of the next Assassin's Creed game, a rather large gameplay chunk has leaked out of the developer showcasing 30 minutes of Valhalla action.
Ubisoft has been vigilantly taking down mirrors of the leaked footage, so don't expect the below videos to stay up for long. The Assassin's Creed fan subreddit should have new mirrors available if needed.
The leak shows us plenty of melee combat involving axes, the new land players will be exploring, some dialog choices, ship gameplay, a boss fight, the level-up system, and a fortress assault, among other things. Also, the individual playing the game is using the female version of Eivor, the new Viking protagonist. Suffice to say, many combat mechanics, UI, and upgrades look very similar to Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Any official gameplay footage we will get to witness during Ubisoft Forward, which kicks off on July 12, will probably look more polished than the leaked slice seen above. As for official Valhalla content, Ubisoft has so far revealed a cinematic trailer and an in-engine trailer with quick cuts of gameplay.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be launching during the 2020 holiday season, and it's heading to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia.
