If you've been hankering for a new Android Wear smartwatch, ASUS might have a new option for you as we close out 2016. Although announced two months ago at IFA in Berlin, ASUS has just started offering its 'ZenWatch 3' for pre-order.
The ZenWatch 3 differs from its predecessor, offering a circular design that is more reminiscent of a traditional timepiece. This go-around the company is clearly aiming to capture those looking to purchase a 'smart' luxury piece and has elevated with better materials like cold-forged steel and an Italian leather band. The watch also features a unique three button design that will allow for quick access to features like your favorite app, brightness controls, and an eco mode. Although it was originally touted as an Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch, the ZenWatch 3 will be launching with the current version instead since Google has delayed '2.0' until 2017.
ASUS has made the ZenWatch 3 a bit more compelling by strategically pricing its watch under the competition at $229. Pre-orders are currently available directly from ASUS (temporarily out of stock) or through third party retailer, B&H Photo.
